Some people are just leery of using an online company they haven’t heard much about and can’t physically visit. One way to help build credibility is to have a set of professional looking print materials. People just expect a successful company to have materials like business cards and brochures.

Another advantage of a brochure is that they are good at selling products and services. A well designed brochure entices customers with the front cover, builds interest in the body, and closes the deal at the end with your contact information. Additionally, a printed brochure can be left on a desk or put on the refrigerator, and every time someone sees it, they are reminded of your company.

Here are a few things you can do to make your brochure an effective sales representative:

Make the Cover a Show Stopper
If the cover doesn’t look great, then the brochure simply won’t get read. For an effective cover, stick to one attractive image and a great headline, along with your logo. Keep it somewhat simple so people can read your headline at a glance. Tell people how you are going to make their lives better; people will only read your brochures if they think there is something in it for them.

Get Attention with an Unusual Shape
Another way to make sure your brochures get read is to have them produced in an unusual shape. Make it go along with your company or message. If you have a hair salon, your brochure could be in the shape of a shampoo bottle, or a coffee house could have a brochure shaped like a coffee mug. Use your imagination.

Tell People What They Want to Hear
The first paragraph of your brochure should describe to people how your company can benefit its customers. Use simple language and short sentences for easy readability.

Put Your Best Foot Forward
In the body of the brochure, describe your best products and services in terms that tell customers how they will benefit. Don’t tell about everything you offer, stick to the best ones.

Give all Your Contact Information
On the back page of your brochures, give all of your contact information. Some people prefer using the Internet, and some still like to telephone. Giving several options, if available, increases the likelihood that people will contact you.
